Wakad, 13th May 2024: The Pimpri Chinchwad city chief of Shiv Sena (UBT), Advocate Sachin Bhosale, has been arrested. Bhosale alleges that the Election Commission of India (ECI) staff filed a false case against him after he questioned them about an EVM Machine being upside down when he went to vote.

In the Maval Lok Sabha Constituency, fierce competition is underway between two Shiv Sena candidates. Shrirang Barane, representing Mahayuti and Chief Minister Eknath Shinde’s Shiv Sena, is up against Sanjog Waghere, representing Mahavikas Aghadi and former Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray’s Shiv Sena. Voting has been underway in Maval since morning.

Adv. Sachin Bhosle, the Pimpri Chinchwad head of Shiv Sena (UBT), went to vote at the polling station in Thergaon. Bhosale started filming on his mobile phone after noticing the EVM Machine was turned upside down. ECI officials stopped him from filming. Bhosale attempted to grab the machine. As a result, the ECI officials filed a complaint with the police, leading to Bhosale’s immediate arrest. He has been produced in court.

A case has been registered for obstructing government work, and the ECI employees have complained to the Wakad police station. The incident occurred at Nagu Gatiram Barne School in Thergaon.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (Zone 2) Bapu Bangar stated, “When Sachin Suresh Bhosale came to vote at the Nagu Gatiram Barne School Polling Station, he brought a mobile phone from outside and began filming the EVM Machine which was turned upside down. A case has been registered against Bhosale for behaving rudely with the officers conducting the polling process, obstructing them from performing their government duties. He has been lawfully arrested and sent to court.”
