Get Information About Polling Stations Today to Avoid Rush Hour: Pune District Collector Dr. Suhas Diwase

Pune, 11th May 2024: With voting scheduled for the general election in Maval, Pune, and Shirur Lok Sabha constituencies of the district on Monday, May 13th, ensuring one’s name on the voter list is imperative. District Collector Dr. Suhas Diwase has urged citizens to obtain information about their designated polling stations today from the website of the Election Commission of India (ECI) to prevent overcrowding on polling day.

Pune district boasts the highest number of voters. In the Maval Lok Sabha constituency, the district hosts 7,14,273 male and 6,47,031 female voters, totaling 13,61,392 voters. In Pune Lok Sabha Constituency there are 20 lakh 55 thousand 741 voters of which 10 lakh 55 thousand 62 are men and 10 lakh 355 women. In Shirur Lok Sabha Constituency there are a total 25 lakh 34 thousand 88 voters of which 13 lakh 33 thousand 890 are men and 11 lakh 99 thousand 997 women.

Distribution of voter ID cards is underway, and individuals who have not received their voter slips are advised to contact the nearest polling station officer. To facilitate voter assistance, the District Election Administration has established voter assistance centres at both ward and assembly constituency levels in Pune and Pimpri Chinchwad cities.

For the convenience of voters, a toll-free number, 1950, has been provided to inquire about their voter list status. Additionally, voter details can be accessed through the website https://electoralsearch.eci.gov.in/ and the Voter Helpline app.

Dr. Diwase has urged eligible voters to exercise their democratic rights without yielding to any inducement, emphasizing the importance of verifying their names on the voter list for the sake of strengthening democracy.
