New Delhi, 9th April 2024: It is expected that India will receive regular monsoon rainfall in June and September of this year. Research states that during this time, 102% of the Long Period Average (LPA), or 868.6 millimetres of rainfall nationwide, are anticipated.

According to the study, rainfall would be above normal in the central and western regions and normal in the northern and southern ones. However, below-average rainfall is anticipated in India’s northeastern and eastern regions.

The study, titled “Monsoon Prediction 2024,” was released and shows that the southwest, northwestern, and southern parts of India will see favourable rainfall. In states that rely on the monsoon, like Madhya Pradesh and Maharashtra, it predicts enough rainfall.

On the other hand, there are worries about below-average rainfall in the eastern states of West Bengal, Bihar, Jharkhand, and Odisha. The first half of the season may see below-average rainfall in the northeastern regions of India. Skymet went on to say that although the central regions of the country will have normal rainfall, Kerala, Konkan, Karnataka, and Goa are predicted to receive above-normal rainfall.

The forecast of a typical monsoon is encouraging, particularly for farmers who significantly rely on regular and sufficient rainfall to sustain their agricultural activities. To lessen the effects of future water scarcity in some areas, good water management and agricultural planning are crucial, as highlighted by the differences in rainfall distribution throughout different regions.
