Pune: Porn Film Shooting Racket Busted By Lonavala Police, 5 Women Among 18 Arrested

Lonavala, 30th March 2024: Pune Rural Police have busted a porn video-making racket and arrested 18 persons including five women.
Acting on confidential information received by Police Inspector Kishore Dhumal of Lonavala rural police station, a team under the guidance of Pune Rural SP Pankaj Deshmukh raided the Arnav Villa bungalow in the Patan village near Malavali on Friday night.
Speaking to Punekar News, SP Deshmukh said, “The information was verified and a raid was conducted resulting in the arrest of 10 men, and five women who were shooting porn film. We have also nabbed three men who had given the bungalow on rent. The accused persons upload the videos on various websites and social media platforms. The bungalow was rented for Rs 30,000.”
Upon raiding the premises, the police discovered young men and women engaged in the production of pornographic videos for various OTT platforms. “All the accused individuals were taken into custody. Two cameras and other related equipment worth Rs 6.72 lakh were seized. The accused hail from different states of India, including Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, and Gujarat. An FIR has been against them for offences under IPC Sections 292, 293, and 34 as well as relevant sections of the Information Technology Act. Despite the prohibition on the production and dissemination of obscene and pornographic material in India, the accused were found engaging in these unlawful activities”, said Assistant Superintendent of Police (Lonavala division) Satya Sai Karthik.
The action was taken under the supervision of Pune Rural Police SP Pankaj Deshmukh, Additional SP Ramesh Chopade, and ASP Satya Sai Karthik. The team included Senior Police Inspector Kishor Dhumal, PSI Bharat Bhosale, PSI Sagar Argade, ASI Ajay Darekar, Mahendra Walunjkar, Yuvraj Bansode, and police personnel Balkrishna Bhoir, Durga Jadhav, Pushpa Ghuge, Rupali Kohinikar, Sagar Dhanwe and Suraj Gaikwad.
