Pune: Violence Erupts Near Hinjawadi: Young Man Assaulted by Relatives Over Social Media Interaction
Hinjawadi, 19th March 2024: A young man was subjected to a brutal assault by relatives of a girl following a social media exchange in Kasarsai. The victim, Sadashiv Bhimashankar Shinde (26), a resident of Kasarsai, Maval, endured a severe beating orchestrated by the brother of the girl, Akshay Sadashiv Surose (22), along with five accomplices. The altercation occurred on Sunday (17th March) at 2:00 PM.
Sadashiv complained to the Hinjawadi Police Station, prompting the registration of a case against Akshay and his accomplices. The sequence of events began with a simple exchange of messages between Sadashiv and Akshay’s sister on social media, leading to a dispute between their families. Although the initial discord was resolved peacefully, tensions simmered beneath the surface. Akshay’s father reportedly issued threats against Sadashiv, foreshadowing the violent turn of events.
On Sunday afternoon, while Sadashiv was engaged in conversation with friends, the accused approached him under the guise of a discussion, only to launch a vicious assault. Sadashiv and his uncle bore the brunt of the attackers’ aggression, leaving them with severe injuries. The Hinjawadi Police have initiated an investigation into the matter.
