Uruli Kanchan, 27th February 2024: In a significant crackdown on illegal activities near Pune city, the Pune Rural Police executed a major operation resulting in the seizure of nearly 9000 liters of illicit liquor. This action comes in the wake of heightened vigilance by law enforcement following recent drug-related incidents in the area.

The operation, carried out by the Uruli Kanchan Police near Sortapwadi, targeted a clandestine hand kiln where the unauthorized production of liquor was underway. Two separate raids were conducted in the Sortapwadi area, resulting in the confiscation of a substantial quantity of illicit substances.

During the first operation, the police seized 525 liters of illegal liquor. In a subsequent raid at the same location, law enforcement authorities discovered and confiscated an astonishing 9000 liters of hand-baked liquor containers. The magnitude of this seizure underscores the scale of the illegal liquor trade in the region.

In a related operation at the same site, the police uncovered and seized 5000 liters of chemicals used in the production of liqour. This suggests a comprehensive crackdown on not only the final product but also the raw materials involved in the illicit liquor manufacturing process.

Under the guidance of Superintendent of Police Pankaj Deshmukh, Pune Rural Police have been intensifying their efforts to curb illegal activities, particularly in the aftermath of a recent drug case.
