Pune: 25-Year-Old Arrested for Kidnapping and Murder of Eight-Year-Old in Wakad

Wakad, 26th February 2024: In a heart-wrenching turn of events, the Pimpri Chinchwad police arrested a 25-year-old man on Sunday in connection with the kidnapping and murder of an eight-year-old boy, the son of a daily wage worker.

ACP (Wakad Division) Vishal Hire provided details, revealing that the victim’s family hails from Barwani district in Madhya Pradesh and is currently residing in a rented accommodation in the Wakad area.

The incident took place on Saturday evening when, according to the victim’s father, his son went missing around 6 pm while riding a bicycle near their residence. After an exhaustive search throughout the night, the worried parents filed a missing person’s complaint with the Wakad police station early on Sunday.

During the subsequent investigations, the police discovered that the young boy had been murdered. ACP Hire stated, “We have recovered the victim’s body.”

The arrest of the suspect was made possible thanks to a crucial tip-off received by the authorities. A motive for the kidnapping and murder is currently under investigation, with the suspect in custody undergoing questioning. ACP Hire added, “The reason for the kidnapping and murder is being ascertained. We are questioning the suspect.”
