Pune, 21st February 2024: The Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) faced a stern reprimand from the Chief Minister’s Office for its alleged neglect of citizen complaints concerning various issues in the city. Responding to this admonition, the administration convened a crucial meeting on Tuesday, directing officials of relevant departments to promptly address the long-pending grievances.

A total of 141 complaints from concerned citizens reached the Chief Minister’s Office, prompting swift action from the authorities. The Municipal Corporation received immediate orders to attend to these complaints after it was brought to light that they had been overlooked.

To address the mounting concerns, PMC’s Additional Commissioner Ravindra Binwade chaired a meeting with officials from various departments on Tuesday. The focus was to assess the current status of pending complaints spanning different sectors.

Of the 141 complaints forwarded by the Chief Minister’s Office, a significant portion—48 complaints—pertained to the construction department, while 25 were related to the road department. Other grievances covered areas such as sewage channels, water supply, and encroachment.

Binwade emphasized the immediate resolution of road department grievances. He stated, “A meeting was held to settle the complaints sent by the Chief Minister’s Office. After understanding the nature of the complaints, instructions have been given to the authorities to redress them promptly.”
