Pune News: Now State Excise Department Also Registers Case For Illegal Liquor Sale At Aradhya Hotel In Charholi

Dighi, 19th February 2024: Following Punekar News’ exclusive report on illegal liquor sales at Aradhya Hotel in Charholi, the Pimpri Chinchwad Police initiated action based on a raid conducted on February 18, 2024.

The Dighi Police Station under the Pimpri Chinchwad Police Commissionerate has filed a case against three individuals: Madhav Tekale (aged 40), Restaurant Manager Deepak Shingare (aged 25), and Vikas Vakode (aged 30) under Section 65 of the Maharashtra Prohibition Act 1949.

Upon contacted by Punekar News, Sagar Dhomkar, Divisional Deputy Commissioner of State Excise, confirmed that his team is vigilant regarding any illegal activities pertaining to purview of Pune Excise and is taking necessary action.
Subsequently, following the actions taken by the Pimpri Chinchwad Police, the Pune unit of the State Excise department, led by Inspector Sandeep More, also conducted a raid at Aradhya Hotel. The Excise Department seized liquor worth Rs 2390 and filed a case against Devnath Gaikwad, Birbal Sarkar, and Vijay Bishwas under Sections 68 and 84 of the Maharashtra Prohibition Act 1949. Section 68 of the act entails stringent penalties, including imprisonment of up to 3 years.

Punekar News had reported yesterday about the fight among groups of drunk customers on Saturday midnight. It was found that the hotel illegally sold liquor and also allowed customers to bring liquor from outside.
