Lohegaon, 18th February 2024: Following Punekar News’ report on drunk customers brawl and illegal liquor sale at Hotel Aradhya in Charholi, Dighi police station officials conducted a raid today, seizing liquor. Police have registered another case in connection with the assault incident.

Senior Police Inspector Vijay Dhamal, in charge of Dighi police station under Pimpri Chinchwad police, informed Punekar News, “Today, we conducted a raid at the hotel and seized liquor worth Rs 36,000. An FIR has been registered in connection with the offence under Section 65 of the Prohibition Act.”

He further added, “Another FIR has been registered against 19 people involved in the brawl at the restaurant on Saturday midnight. More individuals are being identified with the help of CCTV footage.”

On Saturday midnight, two large groups, comprising both men and women, began verbally abusing each other, escalating into physical violence at Aradhya Hotel in Charholi. Even girls were not spared from the clashes. With an estimated 400 customers present, initial attempts by restaurant staff to calm the situation proved futile. Faced with unruly behavior, the restaurant owners and their team took matters into their own hands. They swiftly closed the shutters, resorting to using sticks to subdue the troublemakers. The aggressors were then demanded to settle everyone’s bills.

A distressed eyewitness shared with Punekar News how families, including children and sisters, found themselves caught in the violent crossfire. The lack of officials from Dighi police station, Pimpri Chinchwad Police presence further exacerbated the situation, leaving patrons vulnerable during the chaotic ordeal.
