Pune: Drunk Customers Resort To Violence At Aaradhya Restaurant and Bar, Charholi; Pimpri Chinchwad Police Have No Clue

Lohegaon, 18th February 2024: In a shocking turn of events on the night of 18th February (Saturday) at 11:30 PM, Aaradhya Restaurant and Bar, Charholi, witnessed a disturbing brawl involving intoxicated patrons in the family section. Eyewitnesses reported that two large groups, comprising both men and women, began verbally abusing each other, escalating into physical violence. Even girls were not spared from the clashes.
With an estimated 400 customers present, initial attempts by restaurant staff to calm the situation proved futile. Faced with unruly behavior, the restaurant owners and their team took matters into their own hands. They swiftly closed the shutters, resorting to using sticks to subdue the troublemakers. The aggressors were then demanded to settle everyone’s bills.
A distressed eyewitness shared with Punekar News how families, including children and sisters, found themselves caught in the violent crossfire. The lack of officials from Dighi police station, Pimpri Chinchwad Police, presence further exacerbated the situation, leaving patrons vulnerable during the chaotic ordeal.
It has been revealed that Aaradhya Restaurant operates without a liquor license, allowing patrons to bring their own alcohol. Situated in an area with minimal security and patrolling issues near the end of the Pimpri-Chinchwad Police Jurisdiction, it raises questions about the safety of such establishments. The location has become a hotspot for ignored places, with two other restaurants also reportedly permitting illegal alcohol sales.
This incident sheds light on the broader security lapse in the region, with previous reports of criminal activities such as mobile and chain snatchings in Pride World City.
Senior Police Inspector Vijay Dhamal, who took charge of the Dighi police station today, said, “I am not aware of the incident. Action will be taken after conducting an inquiry.”
Zonal DCP Shivaji Pawar told Punekar News, “The control room had received a call around midnight and our team had reached there within in seven minutes. Further action will be taken based on inquiry.”
