Pune Police Raid Hookah Parlour In Lullanagar, Seize Goods From Rooftop Hotel

Kondhwa, 8th February 2024: A rooftop hookah parlor at a hotel in the Lullanagar area of Kondhwa faced police intervention as the Social Security Cell of the Crime Branch, Pune City Police, conducted a raid around 10 pm on Wednesday. Seized items included hookah flavor and foreign liquor.

The hotel owner, identified as Rahul Jain from Wanwadi, and Mayur Arjun Datkhile (29) of Bibvewadi, have been booked in the case registered against them at Kondhwa police station.

Senior Police Inspector Bharat Jadhav said that the Social Security Cell received a tip-off about an illicit hookah parlor operating on the rooftop of Vegeta – Fine Dine and Lounge in Lullanagar. Acting on this information, the police conducted the raid at 10 pm, resulting in the confiscation of tobacco, hookah flavor, foreign liquor, and other materials associated with the illegal activity.

The operation was executed by a team led by Assistant Police Inspector Rajesh Malegave, comprising Police Constables Ajay Rane, Tushar Dhivarkar, Sagar Kekan, Amey Rasal, Amit Jamdade, Hanmant Kamble, and Kishore Bhujbal. The action was taken under the directives of Crime Branch DCP Amol Zende and Police Inspector Bharat Jadhav.

Earlier, Police Commissioner Amitesh Kumar had clarified that only herbal hookah is permitted.
