Pimpri Chinchwad Initiates Second Phase of Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra to Extend Government Schemes

Pimpri, 7th February 2024: Following the encouraging response from citizens to the Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra, as per the directives of the central government, the second phase of the yatra has been initiated in Pimpri Chinchwad. In the initial phase of the Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra conducted in Pimpri Chinchwad, over 39,000 citizens, including women, benefited from a range of ambitious schemes.

The second phase of the yatra will traverse through 42 locations within the eight zonal offices of the Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC). Various rooms have been set up to guide citizens alongside the Yatra vehicle, providing access to a multitude of schemes offered by the central government. These schemes encompass Aadhaar Kendra, Atmanirbhar Svanidhi Yojana, Ayushman Card, Women and Child Welfare Yojana, Backward Classes Welfare Yojana, and Disability Welfare Yojana, among others.

In addition to scheme-related assistance, the Yatra offers facilities such as new Aadhaar registration, corrections in name and address, Aadhaar linking, Ayushman card distribution, health department information dissemination, medical examinations, and expert guidance.

Key officials including Deputy Commissioner Mininath Dandavate, Special Officer Kiran Gaikwad, and Public Relations Officer Prafulla Puranik, among others, have been actively involved in launching and overseeing the development of Bharat Sankalp Yatra. Notable personalities such as former MP Amar Sable, former Mayor RS Kumar, and former Deputy Mayor Shailaja More have also lent their support to the initiative.

The Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra, held at various locations including B Ward Regional Office in Chinchwad and Sanjay Kale Maidan in Nigdi, witnessed active participation from local leaders, social workers, and citizens alike. The yatra, scheduled from February 6 to February 25, 2024, aims to cover diverse segments of the population and extend the benefits of government schemes comprehensively.

Commissioner and Administrator Shekhar Singh has urged city residents to avail themselves of the opportunities presented by the yatra, emphasizing the importance of leveraging government initiatives for holistic development and welfare.
