Pune Police Commissioner Retesh Kumaarr Transferred, Amitesh Kumar Is New Commissioner

Pune, 31st January 2024: In a significant reshuffle within the Maharashtra Police Department, Pune Police Commissioner Retesh Kumaarr has been transferred, paving the way for the appointment of Amitesh Kumar as the new Police Commissioner of Pune City.

The decision was announced by the Maharashtra State Home Department today. Over 50 IPS officers have been transferred across the state as per the guidelines of the Election Commission of India ahead of the Lok Sabha elections.

Amitesh Kumar earlier served as Nagpur Police Commissioner. Retesh Kumaarr has been promoted and now appointed as DG Homeguards.

Praveen Pawar has been appointed as the Joint Commissioner of Pune Police, the post has been vacant for over two months.

Additional Commissioner of Police (Crime) Ramnath Pokle has also been transferred as Special IG, Amravati range. In his place, Shailesh Balkawade has been appointed the head of Pune Police Crime Branch.

Manoj Patil will be the new Additional Commissioner of Police (East Region) in place of Ranjan Kumar Sharma who has been transferred to CID, Pune.

Pune Rural Police

Superintendent of Police (Pune rural) Ankit Goyal has been promoted and appointed as DIG (Gadchiroli range). Now Pankaj Deshmukh has been appointed as SP of Pune rural police.

Sanjay Jadhav has been appointed as Additional SP (Baramati division) in place Anand Bhoite. Ramesh Chopde has been appointed as Additional SP (Pune division) in place of Mitesh Ghatte. Bhoite and Ghatte has been transferred to Mumbai Police as DCPs.

Pimpri Chinchwad Police

Pimpri Chinchwad Police’s Joint Commissioner of Police Sanjay Shinde has been transferred to CID, Pune. DCP Kakasaheb Dole has been transferred to Maharashtra Police Academy, Nashik.

Vishal Gaikwad is the new incoming DCP in Pimpri Chinchwad police.
