Pune, 18th January 2024: In a significant move reflecting the concerns of 22 states and 1 Union Territory, a delegation comprising members of the working committee, fuel dealers from Pune district, and representatives from FAMPEDA and Mumbai PDA, converged on the State Level Coordinator’s office in Mumbai. Their mission: to submit a memorandum, emphasizing the critical need for an immediate and equitable hike in petrol dealers’ commissions.

President Dhruv Ruparel of the Petrol Dealers Association (PDA) in Pune articulated the pressing issues faced by dealers, stressing the increasing challenges posed by rising investments and expenses. He underscored the gravity of the situation, stating that many petrol pumps are on the brink of closure. Ruparel pointed out that the matter had been neglected for seven years, urging authorities to address it urgently.

“Pune PDA strongly urges the prompt convening of an industry-level meeting to address the escalating challenges faced by petrol dealers. It is imperative to provide relief and establish a permanent mechanism for the trade margin,” emphasized Ruparel during the submission of the memorandum.

The delegation collectively called on the Ministry of Petroleum to swiftly address the matter, citing the urgency of the situation. Ruparel highlighted the increasing difficulty for dealers to sustain their businesses amid declining sales and escalating costs.

“We request the Ministry of Petroleum to kindly address this matter on an urgent basis, as every passing day becomes more challenging for our dealers. It is crucial to find a solution that ensures the sustainability of their businesses,” urged Ruparel in his statement.
