Four individuals from Mulshi were arrested by the crime branch team in relation to the Mohol murder case.

This marks the latest development in the ongoing investigation into the murder of goon Sharad Mohol, who was shot dead with a pistol in the Sutardara area of Kothrud on January 5. Mohol’s accomplice, Sahil alias Munna Polekar, and other associates were involved in the incident. The total number of arrests in the Mohol murder case has now reached 14, including Ramdas Marne. Additionally, two lawyers have been arrested in connection with the case.

The police, during their investigation into the murder, were actively searching for the mastermind behind the crime. Information reached the crime branch that Mulshi goons Vitthal Shelar and Ramdas Marne were present at a farmhouse in the Navi Mumbai area. Acting on this tip, the police detained six individuals, including Shelar and Marne, in Navi Mumbai. Simultaneously, four people were detained in Mulshi taluka.

Prior to the murder of Sharad Mohol, the main accused, Munna Polekar, and his accomplices reportedly practiced shooting at Hadshi village in Mulshi. Under the cover of darkness, Polekar and his companions honed their shooting skills by firing bullets from a pistol into a tree stump. Two separate cases related to this shooting practice have been registered at Bundgarden Police Station and transferred to Paud Police Station (Pune rural police) for further investigation.

The individuals identified in the shooting incidents are Sahil alias Munna Santosh Polekar (20), residing in Sutardara, Kothrud; Namdev Mahipati Kangude (34), residing in Bhugaon and Kothrud; Satish Sanjay Shedge (28), residing in Swapnashilp Apartment, Mathwadi Phata, Bhugaon; and Aditya Vijay Gole, residing in Gole Ali, Pirangut; Nitin Anantha Khaire, residing in Nandanvan Society, Kothrud. Polekar and Kangude faced charges of attempted murder in December after firing pistols at Ajay Sutar in the Bhugaon area when they refused to join Mohol’s murder conspiracy.

Investigation details have also revealed that in July, Polekar and his associates did shooting practice at the stump of a tree in Kalekar’s farm at Bodkewadi of Hadshi village in Mulshi taluka, resulting in a registered case. In the first week of October, shooting practice took place in the open space of Govind Bhale behind the Sathya Sai Baba Trust in Hadshi village, leading to the registration of two cases at Bundgarden police station for possession of illegal weapons. Both cases have been transferred to Paud police for further investigation.
