Pune University’s Avishkar 2024 Squad Poised for Victory in Nashik Science Convention

Pune, 11th January 2024: The enthusiastic squad of 48 students from Savitribai Phule Pune University (SPPU) and its affiliated colleges is ready to participate in the Avishkar 2024 event scheduled to be held from 12th to 14th January in Nashik. Avishkar is a science convention organized for universities under the government of Maharashtra.

Pro Vice-Chancellor of Pune University, Prof. Dr. Parag Kalkar, and Registrar Prof. Dr. Vijay Khare extended their best wishes to the team. Dr. Khare also expressed his hope for the motivated squad to win the grand science event as the university celebrates its Diamond Jubilee year.

The Avishkar team of Pune University is accompanied by the Director of the IQAC department of the university, Dr. Sanjay Dhole, Team Coordinator Dr. Mohan Waman, Dr. Pragati Thakur, OSD Dr. Radhakrishna Thange, University officials Deepak Narke, Jyoti Patole, Suryakant Wanavade, and Sandeep Waghule.

The Avishkar event is held across six domains in three different categories for each domain, namely UG, PG, and PPG. The SPPU squad is divided into three sub-groups for UG, PG, and two sub-groups for PPG category.

These 48 projects have been selected from the university round held across the colleges affiliated with Savitribai Phule Pune University (SPPU) , where around 3500 projects were demonstrated.

Savitribai Phule Pune University has won the event about nine times, while last year, Pune University hosted the grand science convention where Mumbai secured the first place.
