Traffic Alert In Koregaon Park: Pune Police Implement Diversion For Sadhu Vaswani Railway Flyover Bridge Demolition

Koregaon Park, 10th January 2024: In response to the planned demolition of Sadhu Vaswani Railway Flyover Bridge near St Mira’s College, the Pune Police have announced traffic diversions to ensure smooth flow during the reconstruction period. The bridge is considered dangerous, leading to the decision to demolish it and construct a new one.

The changes, effective from January 10, 2024, are as follows:

1. One-Way Routes:
– Parnakuti Chowk to Blue Diamond Chowk to Moboz Chowk.
– Mobaz Chowk to Mahatma Gandhi Udyan Chowk (Bundgarden Road).
– Alankar Chowk to IB Chowk to Circuit House Chowk to Mor Odha Chowk.
– Mor Odha Chowk to Council Hall Chowk.

2. Vehicle Restrictions:
– All types of heavy, bulky, multi-axle vehicles, except essential service vehicles, are prohibited 24/7 on the specified routes.

3. Additional One-Way Routes:
The road from Kahun Road Junction to Tarapur Road remains one way.
The road from Council Hall Chowk to Sadhu Vaswani Statue is made one way.

4. Alternative Routes:
– Vehicles travelling from Nagar Road to Mor Odha Chowk: Parnakuti Chowk, Mahatma Gandhi Udyan Chowk, Blue Diamond Chowk, Moboz Chowk, Mangaldas Road, Moboz Chowk, IB Chowk, Circuit House Chowk, Mor Odha Chowk.
– Vehicles heading to Mor Odha Chowk, Koregaon Park: Council Hall Chowk, Mangaldas Chowk, Bundgarden Road, Mahatma Gandhi Udyan Chowk, Koregaon Park.
– Vehicles from Pune Station to Ghorpadi: Alankar Chowk, IB Chowk, Circuit House Chowk, Mor Odha Chowk, Kahun Road Junction, Tarapur Road Junction.

5. Bus Routes:
– Buses from Ghorpadi and Bhairoba Nala Chowk should take a left turn at Kahun Road Junction, reaching Tarapur Road Junction via Mor Odha Chowk.

6. Temporary Changes:
– The one-way route from IB Junction to Mor Odha may be temporarily altered as needed.
– Traffic from Blue Diamond Chowk to South Main Road, Koregaon Park, will remain unaffected.
