Pune: Wakad Man Exposes Black Magic Plot, Files Complaint Against Wife and In-laws

Wakad, 3rd January 2024: A man has filed a complaint against his wife and in-laws, accusing them of practicing black magic and subjecting him to physical assault. The 33-year-old resident of Kalewadi, lodged the complaint after discovering disturbing recordings on his wife’s mobile phone.

The couple, married in 2015, had faced marital issues leading to a separation. However, they reconciled last year, considering their eight-year-old daughter and after counseling in the Lok Adalat. Following their reunion, he developed a stomach disorder.

To his shock, he found recordings in which his wife was consulting a person named Baba Shinde from Mohol about witchcraft and black magic. The recordings, found in wife’s phone, allegedly discussed feeding him nails and other substances. Disturbed by this revelation, the complainant confronted his wife, leading to a violent altercation where he was beaten with a wooden stick and a crowbar. His mother-in-law also reportedly put chilli powder in his eyes.

In response to the husband’s complaint, the Pimpri Chinchwad police have registered a case under for offences under the Maharashtra Prevention and Eradication of Human Sacrifice and other Inhuman, Evil and Aghori Practices and Black Magic Act.

During the court proceedings, her lawyer rejected the witchcraft claims, asserting that there is no concrete evidence of cloves being mixed with food. The lawyer argued that practicing God’s rituals is distinct from practicing witchcraft.

Inspector of Police (Crime) Vitthal Salunke, leading the investigation, revealed that an impostor named Baba Shinde was arrested after the husband heard an auto call recording on her phone. The recording allegedly instructed her to cut her own nails and fry them into powder, which was to be mixed with her husband’s food to attract his affection.
