Sunday, July 9, 2017 – The hallowed grounds at Sadhu Vaswani Mission, Pune reverberated with mystical, divine vibrations on the sacred Guru Purnima day as devotees from all over the world came to pay homage to Beloved Master’s Sadhu T.L. Vaswani and Dada J.P. Vaswani.

Celebrations started in the early hour at 5am as devotees cleansed the Sacred Samadhi of Sadhu Vaswani, each taking turns to lovingly wipe the shrine. As they performed this task, they sang devotional bhajans in glory of the Beloved Master.

The morning continued with a newly introduced event, the recitation of Mahamantra kirtan from 6am – 9am at the Sacred Samadhi. The program began with the lighting of the sacred havan. For the next three hours, the air carried the enchanting voices of many singers.

Devotees closed their eyes in reverence as the kirtan gave an aura of divinity and calmness. Gauri Punjabi from Vadodara commented, “What a fantastic experience! It felt that I have reached heaven. Having listened to all these kirtans in front of Sadguru I felt that I was transported to another world. I was in a state of bliss.”

The program ended with a guided meditation by Rev. Dada J.P. Vaswani which touched the hearts of all. A student, Hitesh Magnani, said “It actually sent me to meditation for the first time! I really liked it.”

Starting on the holy Guru Purnima day, this recitation will continue until July 20th from 6am – 9am and 6pm – 9pm each day. Dr. Reshma Lakhani from Pune commented, “There were such peaceful vibrations! The chanting was lovely and the meditation was the icing on the cake!”

The day continued with another program at 11:30am in the main satsang hall where singers, including Kajal Chandiramani and Dr. Harish Wadhwani, entranced the attendees with soul stirring singing of Guru Mahima bhajans and kirtan. Fifty impoverished families were given cash and groceries to help the needs of the family. After the beautiful afternoon program, a scrumptious langar of brown pulao, mix bhaji, riata, bread and mohan thal (sweet) was served to one and all.

Lalit Gianchandani, a businessman from Pune commented, “The program was an eye opener. The dedication of Dada’s disciples and the discipline with which they are carrying out charities is remarkable. What Dada spoke was truly inspiring.”

Rev. Dada J.P. Vaswani’s Guru Purnima message, “To the disciple there is no difference between the Guru and God. God dwells within each one of us but we cannot see Him for He is hidden behind the veils of ignorance, behind the veils of mind and matter. The great wall of the ego stands between us and God and we cannot see Him. It is the Guru who has the power to destroy the great wall of the ego and lead us from darkness into light. The Guru is the great cleanser, a great purifier not merely a great teacher.”

It was truly an auspicious, blissful day with a charged ambiance being felt all across the Mission campus.
