Pune: Pimpri-Chinchwad Crime Branch Rescues Woman and Minor from Prostitution Racket In Ravet

Ravet, 23rd December 2023: In a successful operation, the Anti-Human Trafficking Unit (AHTU) of the Pimpri-Chinchwad Crime Branch apprehended two individuals involved in luring a woman and a minor girl into the illicit business of prostitution. The arrests were made on Thursday evening at Kivale, Ravet, on the Mumbai-Bangalore highway.

The arrested individuals have been identified as Rahul Balu Diwar, aged 32, from Chinchwad, and an unnamed woman. The case has been filed at the Ravet police station by Police Officer Sangeeta Jadhav.

According to the police, Diwar, a resident of Ravet, operated as an agent in the trafficking scheme. Alongside the female accomplice, they enticed both a woman and a minor girl with financial incentives, subsequently engaging them in the prostitution business.

The AHTU received intel that this illicit activity was taking place at a lodge in Kivale along the Bangalore-Mumbai highway. Acting swiftly, the police conducted a raid on Thursday evening around 6 pm, rescuing a woman and a minor girl from the clutches of the alleged traffickers. Both perpetrators have been arrested, and Ravat police are investigating the case.
