Pune: Case Registered Against Maulana, Mother Of Minor Girl and Parents Of Groom For Alleged Involvement in Child Marriage
Dehu Road, 16th December 2023: A case has been registered against Salem Usman Inamdar (25), his mother and father, along with the mother of a minor girl and Maulana Mukhtar Ghaffar Shaikh (46) for their alleged involvement in arranging the marriage of an underage girl. The incident occurred on the morning of October 30 in Rajiv Gandhi Nagar, Dehu Road.
The complaint was lodged by the girl’s mother, and the case has been registered at the Dehu Road Police Station. The accused include Salem Usman Inamdar and his parents, who hail from Mangalwar Peth, Junnar, as well as the Maulana Mukhtar Ghaffar Shaikh from Dehu Road.
The charges include arranging the marriage of a minor girl, specifically against Maulana Mukhtar Ghaffar Shaikh for conducting the marriage ceremony despite being aware of the girl’s underage status.
The Dehu Road Police have initiated an investigation into the case.
