Pune: Drunken Husband Tries To Kill Wife Over WhatsApp Usage, Case Registered
Sangvi, 15th December 2023: A shocking and disturbing incident has rattled the city of Pune as a husband, infuriated by his wife’s extensive use of WhatsApp, attempted to take her life under the influence of alcohol.
An FIR has been registered against the accused husband and his father.
The incident took place in Sangvi, where the accused allegedly angered by his wife’s constant chatting on the social media platform WhatsApp, resorted to a violent act. In a fit of rage, he tied a rope around his wife’s neck and attempted to hang her from a ceiling fan while she was seated.
The incident triggered an immediate response from neighbors who rushed to the spot upon hearing the woman’s cries for help. The victim is currently receiving intensive care for severe neck injuries sustained during the attempted assault.
Pimpri Chinchwad police are further investigating the case.
