Shikrapur, 13th December 2023: A school bus affiliated with Shri Vasantrao Dawkhare Memorial School collided with a tree near Shikrapur, resulting in injuries to both the bus driver and a female passenger.
Fortunately, no students were on board, averting a potential major disaster. Prompt response from local ambulance services and the police administration ensured swift rescue operations at the accident site.
This incident follows a similar occurrence eight days ago in Wagholi, where a school bus collided with a tree, resulting in injuries to some students.
The recurring incidents have reignited the discussion on student transport safety, prompting renewed demands from parents for stricter control and regulation of school buses by the Regional Transport Office (RTO) department.
