Pimpri Chinchwad: Father Loses Life, Son Survives Fatal Collision on Triveninagar-Talawade Road
Talawade, 12th December 2023: In another incident on the Triveninagar-Talawade road, a fatal accident occurred around 5:30 pm on Tuesday, claiming the life of a 40-year-old man identified as Navnath Bhanudas Gaikwad.
The victim, travelling on a two-wheeler with his 12-year-old son, was crushed under the rear wheel of a speeding dumper, leading to his immediate demise. Thankfully, the son narrowly escaped the tragic incident.
The deceased, Navnath Gaikwad, and his son Deepak were riding their two-wheeler when a dumper, reportedly moving at high speed, collided with their bike. The impact caused Navnath to fall off the bike, and he ran along with the dumper for about a hundred meters before being crushed under its rear wheel. Tragically, he succumbed to his injuries at the accident site.
Miraculously, Deepak, the 12-year-old son, survived the accident by falling on the opposite side of the dumper’s path. The police were alerted to the scene, and an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the accident is underway.
This incident follows a recent accident on the same road where a woman lost her life, and another was severely injured. Concerns about heavy traffic and accidents on this stretch led villagers to meet with the Pimpri Chinchwad Commissioner of Police, urging swift action to address the situation. They warned of potential roadblocks if the traffic situation is not improved within 15 days.
