Pune: Two More Injured Workers Succumb To Injuries Sustained In Talawade Factory Fire, Toll Reaches 8
Pune, 9th December 2023: In a devastating incident, six women workers lost their lives in an explosion at an unauthorized ‘sparkle’ candle manufacturing company located in the Talwade Red Zone in Pimpri Chinchwad. The tragedy unfolded yesterday, leading to the loss of lives and severe injuries to 10 others. Subsequently, injured individuals were rushed to Sassoon Hospital for immediate medical attention.
“Two of the injured patients succumbed to their injuries today. The condition of the remaining eight patients remains critical, with extensive damage to their lungs”, informed Dr Vinayak Kale, Dean of BJ Government Medical College and Sassoon Hospital.
He added, “Ten patients were transferred from Yashwantrao Chavan Hospital in Pimpri Chinchwad last night for specialized treatment. Tragically, two patients lost their lives during the course of treatment—one in the morning and another in the afternoon. The remaining eight individuals are battling critical conditions, with significant damage to their respiratory systems.”
