Pune, 9th December 2023: The inclusion of Nawab Malik in the Grand Alliance has sparked opposition from Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis. NCP leader, Rupali Patil Thombare, entered the fray, taking a direct aim at Ajit Pawar and Fadnavis, drawing parallels with Sadhvi Pragya Singh.

Thombare, the NCP leader in Pune, expressed her stance against Fadnavis, who targeted Nawab Malik. In a tweet, she pointed out that BJP nominated Sadhvi Pragya Singh as an MP candidate despite terrorism accusations. Thombare emphasized that Nawab Malik faced allegations of treason, but no crime has been proven.

“Our state operates and will continue to operate according to the law. Treating our people like a commodity is indecent,” Thombare stated, addressing both Deputy Chief Ministers Ajit Pawar and Devendra Fadnavis.

Sadhvi Pragya Singh, BJP MP from Bhopal Constituency, faced accusations in the 2008 Malegaon blast conspiracy case, serving jail time. Despite the controversies, she was nominated by BJP for Lok Sabha from Bhopal, elected, and became an MP.

Nawab Malik attended the first day of the assembly session, sitting on the ruling party’s benches, indicating his alignment with Ajit Pawar over Sharad Pawar. However, after facing opposition criticism, Fadnavis wrote a letter to Ajit Pawar, making it public on Twitter. His statement led to trolling on social media.
