Pune: Four Persons Booked By Pimpri Chinchwad Police In Connection Talawade Factory Fire Which Killed 6 Workers

Talawade, 9th December 2023: Six women workers lost their lives in an explosion on Friday while working at an unauthorized ‘sparkle’ candle factory of the Shivraj Enterprises, Talawade.

The Dehu Road Police have arrested Nazeer Amir Shikalgar of Mohannagar, Chinchwad, in connection with the incident. Additionally, a case has been filed against two women and Sharad Sutar. The complaint was lodged by Balasaheb Vishwanath Vaidya, a fire brigade officer.

According to the police, Shivraj Enterprises, along with Rana Fabrication Company, was engaging in the illegal manufacturing of candles indoors, lacking the necessary license to use flammable materials. The incident resulted in the death of six women, while 10 others sustained serious injuries due to the ignition of the inflammable material.

Police are conducting further investigation.
