Pimpri Chinchwad Police Seize 7.5 KG Ganja, Man From Dhule Arrested
Pune, 7th December 2023: In a successful operation on Wednesday afternoon, the anti-narcotics cell of Pimpri Chinchwad police arrested an individual in Sant Tukaram Nagar, Pimpri, with a substantial amount of Marijuana (Ganja), totalling 7.5 kilograms.
The arrested person has been identified as Jitendra Magan Koli (33) from Shirpur, Dhule, now faces charges under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, 1985. Police Constable Kapilesh Igawe has lodged a complaint at the Pimpri Police Station.
Koli was caught in front of the PCMC Main Fire Station at Sant Tukaram Nagar.
Upon searching the accused, the anti-narcotics team discovered a significant haul of illegal substances. The seized items included 7.438 kilograms of marijuana with an estimated street value of Rs 7,43,800. Additionally, a mobile phone valued at Rs 15,000 was confiscated. The total worth of the seized ganja and related stuff amounted to Rs 7,58,800.
Investigations revealed that the accused had purportedly arrived at the location with the intent to sell the confiscated marijuana. The arrest was made by the NDPS Act, and an internal case has been registered at the Pimpri Police Station.
