Pune: Srinivasan Services Trust Empowers 114 Villages in Pabal Area, Focusing on Agriculture, Water Management, and Women’s Empowerment

Pabal, 7th December 2023: The Srinivasan Services Trust, the social arm (CSR) of TVS Company, has embarked on a comprehensive initiative aimed at fostering self-reliance in 114 villages within the Pabal area. Over the past 12 years, the Trust has been actively involved in village development projects, benefitting approximately 20,000 people. The focus areas include agricultural innovations, water management, better animal husbandry practices, and infrastructure development.

Initiatives Undertaken:
1. Agricultural Innovations: The trust is actively supporting farmers in introducing new cropping methods and providing guidance to over a thousand farmers on modern agriculture practices.

2. Organic Farming Project: More than 2,500 farmers are benefiting from the trust’s organic farming project, contributing to sustainable and eco-friendly agricultural practices.

3. Water Management: A significant campaign has been launched to remove silt from lakes in the Pabal area, resulting in increased storage capacity and improved water availability for farmers.

4. Infrastructure Development: Infrastructure facilities have been established in several villages, enhancing overall living conditions and accessibility.

A key focus of the Srinivasan Services Trust is women’s empowerment and financial inclusion. The establishment of over 300 self-help groups, comprising more than three and a half thousand women, has played a pivotal role in achieving these objectives. These self-help groups have successfully secured loans exceeding Rs.5 crores from banks, enabling women to achieve financial independence.

The Trust’s holistic approach has resulted in tangible improvements in the lives of villagers. By emphasizing sustainable agricultural practices, efficient water management, and empowering women through self-help groups, the Srinivasan Services Trust is contributing to the overall development and self-sufficiency of the communities in the Pabal area.
