Pune: Motorcyclist Files Complaint After Golf Ball Hits His Face Near Poona Club Golf Course
Yerwada, 1st December 2023: A motorcyclist was hit in the face by a golf ball near the boundary wall of Poona Club Golf Course, causing the rider to fall on the road. The incident occurred on Pune Airport Road when the golf ball, originating from the golf course, struck the motorcyclist, resulting in an injury in the eye.
The victim, a lawyer identified as Amol Vishwanath Nakhate (30) from Rahatani, Pimpri-Chinchwad, promptly filed a complaint against the management of Poona Club Golf Course and an unidentified person playing golf.
The incident took place around 2 pm on November 29 in front of GST Bhawan on Airport Road. Nakhate, accompanied by a colleague, was en route to the Office Of The District Superintendent Of Land Records in Yerawada for a hearing when the golf ball struck him. After the incident, Nakhate and his colleague went to Yerawada Police Station to file a complaint. Nakhate had suffered a wound under his eye, leading to bleeding, and was subsequently treated at Sassoon Hospital.
In his complaint, Nakhate alleged that the golf course had not implemented adequate precautions to prevent such incidents, endangering the lives of citizens on public roads. The case has been registered against the Poona Club Golf Course management and the unidentified golfer.
