Pune, 30th Nov 2023: Pune Metro has floated tender on its official website for licensing of retail business spaces having an area of less than 100 sq mtrs. at selected metro stations at corridor -1 & corridor 2 of Pune metro rail project for a period of 09 years. A total of 38 retail business spaces are now available across selected metro stations, offering an exclusive and lucrative business prospect for potential buyers. These spaces are available at selected metro stations along Corridor-1 and Corridor-2 of the Pune Metro Rail Project, with a licensing period extending for nine years.

Pune Metro Rail Project, comprising two corridors: the North-South Corridor (Purple line) and the East-West Corridor (Aqua line). Encompassing a cumulative length of 33.2 kilometres and consists of 30 stations, the project features an elevated section spanning 27.2 kilometres and an underground section extending for 6 kilometres. Flag off ceremony of the maiden train took place on the 6th of March 2022, by the hands of the Hon’ble Prime Minister, during which 10 stations were officially opened to the public.

Subsequently, on the 1st of August 2023, 11 more stations were inaugurated by the Hon’ble Prime Minister of India. As of now, 23.66 kilometres of the total 33.2 kilometres have been commercially opened to the public. The work on the remaining 9.62 km is going in full swing.

Pune Metro provides a secure, comfortable, and fast travel experience to its commuters. Stations of Pune Metro witness a daily flow of thousands of commuters everyday, ranging from PCMC to Pune. As of November 2023, the cumulative ridership has reached 8,818,761 with a daily average of 53,000 passengers. The highest ridership achieved in a day is 1,69,512. These numbers are expected to be increased once the entire stretch is opened for the citizens soon.
