Pune: Massive Fire at MNGL Gas Pipeline in Kondhwa; Swift Management by Fire Brigade

Kondhwa, 28th November 2023: Today at 02:24 pm, the fire brigade swiftly responded to a severe fire caused by the bursting of the MNGL gas pipeline in Pargenagar area of Kondhwa, Pune.

Upon receiving the report, personnel from Kondhwa Khurd and Kondhwa Budruk fire stations were dispatched immediately. Upon arrival, they were met with a large-scale fire erupting from the burst MNGL line, a consequence of ongoing digging with the assistance of a JCB.

Firefighters promptly started dousing the flames with water and, in coordination with MNGL officials contacted through the control room, successfully halted the flow of the main MNGL channel, averting further danger. Fortunately, no injuries were reported at the site.

The firefighting team, led by Fire Officer Kailas Shinde, included Driver Yogesh Jagtap, Farooq Sheikh, Anil Kharat, and Tandel Sopan Kamble, along with jawans Abhijit Thalkar, Arjun Yadav, Mahesh Phatare, Sandeep Pawar, Abhishek Kasbe, Dinesh Dagle, Prasad Shinde, and Sandeep Kawade, who played a crucial role in managing the situation efficiently.
