IndiGo Passenger’s Bizarre Experience: Seat Cushion Goes Missing From Pune To Nagpur Flight
Pune, 27th November 2023: In an unexpected turn of events, Nagpur resident Sagarika Patnaik discovered that half of her seat was missing during her flight from Pune to Nagpur on an IndiGo flight (6E-6798) in the early hours of Sunday.
Sagarika, who was traveling for work, was allocated seat number 10A, situated by a window, according to her husband, Subrat Patnaik. However, upon reaching her seat, she was astonished to find the cushion missing. Subrat shared, “She raised the concern with one of the cabin crew members, who simply instructed her to check beneath the seat for the missing cushion.”
Despite Sagarika’s efforts to locate the cushion around her seat, she was unsuccessful. Subrat added, “She informed the cabin crew once again. Boarding was still in progress, and she was compelled to stand in the aisle, causing inconvenience to other passengers. Eventually, a crew member brought another cushion from a spare seat and placed it. How could a seat cushion disappear like that? This is certainly unexpected from an airline brand like IndiGo.”
In response to Subrat’s concerns on X (formerly Twitter), the airline addressed the issue, stating, “At times, the seat cushion gets adrift from its Velcro. The same can be repositioned with the help of our crew. Further, your feedback will be shared with the team concerned for review.”
In a statement today, IndiGo stated, “With reference to an incident on IndiGo flight 6E 6798 from Pune to Nagpur on November 26, 2023, the ground staff noticed an unclean seat, which was promptly replaced. IndiGo maintains the highest standards of cleanliness and hygiene to ensure a safe, hassle-free experience, and regrets any inconvenience caused to passengers.”
