Recently, spy images of the XUV.e9 testing internationally were released, showcasing a camouflaged exterior. Although the design details remain undisclosed, the spy image reveals a closed grille, indicating its electric nature, with a full-width LED DRL slot at the front. The rear features a flat roof line, a substantial spoiler, aggressive LED tail lights, and flash door handles. While some design adjustments are expected for the Indian market, specific details remain undisclosed.

The interior images of the 5-seater electric coupe, resembling the XUV.E8, provide insights into its cabin design. The central console boasts a large screen, a wide AC unit, a gear lever, and a two-spoke steering wheel with various controls, including the illuminated Mahindra logo. The 12.3-inch touchscreen supports a high resolution of 1920×720 pixels. The cabin is set to offer premium leather upholstery, soft-touch elements, and advanced safety features, including Level 2 ADAS technology with various functionalities like departure from line warning and adaptive cruise control. For the Indian market, additional safety features such as 7 airbags, electronic stability control, and a 360-degree camera are expected.

The Mahindra XUV.e9 is equipped with a powerful electric motor and a substantial battery pack. The top model is anticipated to feature an 80-kilowatt battery pack on each axle, enabling all-wheel drive (AWD). The electric motor is expected to generate 230 BHP and 350 BHP. Mahindra claims a range of 435 to 450 kilometers using the WLTTP testing standard. Pricing details for the XUV.e9 are yet to be revealed, and its introduction in the Indian market is expected by the end of 2025, aligning with its international launch. While there is no direct rival in the Indian market, it’s speculated to compete with Tata Motors’ upcoming Tata Sierra, set to enter the electric vehicle segment.
