As we started getting into our research while setting up one of India’s first Multilingual Dating platforms, the security for our users, especially the slightly more vulnerable categories like women, it became imperative for us to begin our base with implementing comprehensive strategies that safeguard user privacy, prevent identity theft, and combat cyberbullying.
Some points we found in our research and thought were good food for thought for any platform including ours looking to capture this space:
- Robust User Verification:
Implementing stringent verification processes is crucial for preventing fraudulent profiles and protecting users from catfishing and identity theft. This includes measures such as photo verification, phone number confirmation, and background checks. Enhancing the verification process can deter malicious actors and foster a more trustworthy environment for genuine users. Safety of users became our top priority when it comes to the online dating experience.
- Clear Privacy Policies and Data Practices:
Transparently outlining how user data is collected, used, and shared empowers individuals to make informed decisions about their online dating experience. Clear and easily understandable privacy policies are essential for building trust and ensuring that user information is handled responsibly.
- Effective Reporting Mechanisms:
Establishing clear and accessible reporting mechanisms enables users to flag suspicious activity, inappropriate behavior, or potential scams promptly. This allows for timely intervention and investigation, preventing further harm and fostering a safer online dating experience. Our app does not permit any form of Screenshots or Screen Recording which keeps Women Profiles safe from being circulated and thereafter calling upon a threat of cyber stalking and bullying.

Regularly conducting security audits and implementing software updates can help identify and address potential vulnerabilities before they are exploited. This proactive approach ensures that online dating platforms remain resilient against evolving cyber threats.
