Pune: 82 Acres Forest Dept Land Illegally Sold Based On Forged Documents, FIR Registered

Talegaon Dabhade, 22nd November 2023: The fraudulent sale of 81.84 Acres of Forest Department land based on forged documents has been uncovered at the secondary registrar Maval 2, Talegaon Dabhade. The deceptive transaction took place between December 16, 2020, and January 21, 2021.

The accused individuals involved in the case are Rafiq Dawood Ruwala (73), Ali Ajgar (20), and a woman, all residents of Nerul Road, Thane. Sanjay Ahirrao, a forester from Ambavane, filed a complaint at the Talegaon Dabhade Police Station on 21st November 2023 regarding this matter.

According to the police, certain areas within the jurisdiction of the Tamhini Forest Division fall under the Maharashtra Private Forests (Acquisition) Act, of 1975. The sale of this land requires the authorization of the forest range officer. The accused fabricated a letter in the name of the forest range officer, falsely claiming that 81.84 Acres of this land were eligible for sale.

Based on this fraudulent letter, the Sub-Registrar unlawfully transferred the forest department area through three separate deeds at Maval 2, Talegaon Dabhade. Following the revelation of this incident, a case has been registered, and the Talegaon Dabhade police are currently conducting an investigation.
