Pune, 21st November 2023: Deepawali, the largest annual festival celebrated across India, became even more special this year as Vi, India’s leading telecom operator, embarked on a heartwarming initiative in Maharashtra to embrace the spirit of inclusivity.

Vi’s recent campaign, titled “Be Someone’s We,” conveys the powerful message that even a small gesture can make a significant difference in someone’s life. Inspired by this concept, Vi’s Deepawali initiative aimed to spread festive cheer among diverse communities and groups in various cities of Maharashtra, including Pune, Aurangabad, Nashik, Akola, Nagpur, Solapur, and Kolhapur.

During this festive season, Vi employees in each of these seven cities took the initiative to connect with and make Deepawali extra special for local municipal workers, firefighters, traffic police, and hospital attendants. These unsung heroes were not only presented with Deepawali sweets and gifts but were also acknowledged for their tireless efforts and contributions with heartfelt gratitude. Vi employees extended the festive spirit to other marginalized groups, including the transgender communities, senior citizen homes, and children from orphanages in Maharashtra. Deepawali sweets and gifts were shared with these communities, bringing joy and warmth to their celebrations.

Rohit Tandon, Cluster Business Head – Maharashtra & Goa, Vodafone Idea, extended Deepawali greetings to the residents of Maharashtra, saying, “The Festival of Lights is celebrated with zeal and enthusiasm across the country. In line with the philosophy of our ongoing campaign Be Someone’s We, this Deepawali, our efforts have been to make people feel included and spread positivity. We hope Vi inspires people to bring a little joy to someone’s lives and ensure that everyone has a truly happy festive season and no one feels left out or lonely.”
