Pune Police Bans Private Buses At Sangamwadi For 3 Days, Imposes Traffic Diversion Due To Bageshwar Maharaj Program
Pune, Maharashtra: In light of the upcoming ‘Hanuman Katha Satsang’ program organized by Bageshwar Maharaj at Nikam Farm, Sangamwadi Bridge, Pune City Police has issued necessary traffic changes to ensure a smooth flow of traffic in the area. Police have appealed people to avoid Sangamwadi Road.
The event, scheduled from 20/11/2023 to 22/11/2023, is expected to draw a large crowd, necessitating adjustments to the regular traffic flow, said DCP (traffic) Vijay Kumar Magar.
Private buses (travels) carrying passengers are instructed to avoid the Sangamwadi parking area for pick up/drop points during this period. Instead, they are temporarily assigned a pick-up/drop point at Kharadi Jakatnaka.
Here are the key changes:
1. Private buses traveling from the Old Pune Mumbai Highway from Pimpri Chinchwad area to Sangamwadi parking lot will follow a diverted route via Khadki Bazar, Holkar Bridge, Chandrama Chowk, Sadalbaba Chowk, Parnkuti Chowk, and Nagar Road to Kharadi Jakatnaka.
2. Private Travel Buses heading to Pimpri Chinchwad from Nagar Road will take an alternative route through Shastrinagar Chowk, Golf Club Chowk, Ambedkar Chowk, Alandi Road Junction, Chandrama Chowk, Holkar Bridge, and Poultry Farm Chowk.
3. Private passenger transport buses traveling from Pune University Chowk to Sangamamwadi parking lot will reroute through University Chowk, Shimla Office Chowk (Shivajinagar), Sancheti Chowk, R.T.O. Chowk, Jahangir Hospital Chowk, Ambedkar Setu via Parnkuti Chowk (Yerwada) to Kharadi Jakatnaka.
4. Private passenger transport buses heading towards Pune University Chowk from Nagar Road will follow a route through Nagar Road, Parnkuti Chowk, Mahatma Gandhi Udyan, Jahangir Chowk, R.T.O. Chowk, Sancheti Chowk, Shimla Office Chowk, and University Chowk.
5. Due to the temporary closure of the entry to Sangamwadi from Nagar Road, these buses are advised to reach Ambedkar Chowk via Shastrinagar Chowk, Golf Club Chowk, drop passengers before Ambedkar Chowk, and park at an alternative location.
Additionally, a temporary entry ban for all types of vehicles is announced from Patil Estate Chowk to Sadalbaba Chowk (Sangamwadi Road) from 20/11/2023 to 22/11/2023, considering the congestion at the event venue at Sangamwadi.
Alternative routes are provided for vehicles approaching from different directions.
1) For vehicles coming from Old Mumbai-Pune Highway : Poultry Farm Chowk, Mula Road, Holkar Bridge, Chandrama Chowk, Sadalbaba Chowk to the desired destination
2) For vehicles coming from Shimla Office Chowk : Simla Office Chowk, Sancheti Chowk, Engineering College Chowk, RTO Chowk, Jahangir Hospital Chowk, Ambedkar Setu, Sadalbaba Chowk route
3) For vehicles coming from Nagar Road : Parnakuti Chowk, Bundagarden Road to RTO Chowk, Engineering College Chowk to the desired destination
4) For vehicles coming from Vishrantwadi : Chandrama Chowk, Holkar Bridge, Mula Road to the desired destination
5) For vehicles coming from Ambedkar Chowk : Sadalbaba Chowk, Parnkuti Chowk, Mahatma Gandhi Udyan, Jahangir Hospital Chowk, RTO Chowk to the desired destination or Sadalbaba Chowk, taking a right turn to Chandrama Chowk, Holkar Bridge via Mula Road to the desired destination via Kamal Nayan Bajaj Udyan
