Pune RTO Launches New Two-Wheeler Series with Attractive Number Options; Advance Applications and Auction Process Initiated

Pune, 14th November 2023: The Pune Regional Transport Office (RTO) is set to unveil a new series for two-wheelers, initiating the process for accepting advance applications and auction procedures to reserve appealing registration numbers. This opportunity is available for private four-wheelers on payment of three times the fee and the remaining numbers designated for two-wheelers.

For vehicle owners seeking attractive and preferred numbers for four-wheelers in the newly launched two-wheeler series, applications can be submitted in the prescribed format on November 17 from 11:00 am to 2:30 pm, along with the stipulated triple fee. In case of multiple applications for the same number, a list will be published on the office notice board, and auction deposits (DD) will be accepted until 2:30 pm on November 20. The auction is scheduled to take place on the same day at 3:30 pm in the room of the Sub-Regional Transport Officer.

Similarly, two-wheeler owners desiring attractive and preferred numbers can apply on November 20 between 11:00 am and 2:30 pm, accompanied by the prescribed fee. In case of multiple applications for the same number, the list will be published on the notice board on November 21 during office hours. Auction DDs will be accepted until 2:30 pm on the same day, with the auction taking place at 3:30 pm in the Sub-Regional Transport Officer’s room.

Applications, along with the DD, address proof, Aadhaar card, identity card, and an attested copy of the PAN card, should be submitted in the private vehicle registration section of the office. The DD, payable to the ‘R.T.O. Nationalized Scheduled Bank’ in the name of Pimpri Chinchwad, should be located in Pune.

It’s important to note that once a registration number is reserved, it cannot be changed. If the vehicle is not presented for registration within 30 days from the date of reservation, the allocated registration number will be automatically cancelled, and the fee will be deposited with the government. The fee for the reservation of any particular registration number is non-refundable. The Deputy Regional Transport Officer, Pimpri Chinchwad, has specified that applications should be submitted only by vehicle owners within the jurisdiction of the Regional Transport Office Pune, and those outside the jurisdiction will be rejected.
