Pune: Man Forced To Dance Naked, Extorted, and Humiliated In Yerwada

Yerwada, 10th November 2023: A distressing incident took place in Ekta Housing Society, Yerwada, where a young man fell victim to a harrowing ordeal at the hands of three acquaintances.

The incident occurred on July 13 and 14, 2023, when the victim, after being lured to a flat, was coerced into dancing naked, had explicit videos recorded, and subsequently faced extortion and humiliation.

The victim, a 33-year-old residing in the Shantinagar area of Yerwada, originally from Pravaranagar, Ahmednagar, filed a complaint with the police.

The accused, identified as Somnath Kondiba Rajbhoj, Chandrakant Baban Landge, Sanjay Atmaram Sutar, and Subhash Hanumantrao Bhosale, all residents of Ekta Housing Society, Yerwada, have been booked in the case.

The horrifying sequence of events began when the victim received a call from Somnath Rajbhoj on July 13, informing him that his brother had arrived. He was summoned to meet his brother at a mentioned flat in Yerwada. Upon arrival, the victim was coerced into stripping naked and dancing, while a disturbing video was recorded without his consent. Subsequently, the perpetrators forcibly took 60 thousand rupees from him.

To exacerbate the situation, the victim’s mobile phone was confiscated and burnt, leaving him without any means of communication. The explicit video was shamelessly disseminated to a village WhatsApp group, causing severe defamation and emotional distress to the victim.

In response to the victim’s complaint, the police have taken swift action, registering a case against the accused under the IT Act 67, along with IPC sections 392 (robbery), 427 (mischief causing damage), 500 (defamation), 506 (criminal intimidation), and 34 (acts done by several persons in furtherance of common intention).
