350 children participate in Ferrero’s third edition of Kinder+Sport camp in Baramati

Baramati, June 12, 2017: Ferrero India’s Kinder+Sport camp 2017 concluded in Baramati, Maharashtra recently. Over350 children from different schools in Baramati participated in the Kinder+Sport camp that was conducted from June 5 to 9, 2017 at Vidya Prathisthan School. This has been the third edition of the camp in India. Kinder+Sport camp is a part of Ferrero’s global CSR program aimed at promoting active lifestyles by encouraging dynamic play and sports among children and stimulating them to make physical activity an integral part of their lives. Trainers from Ferrero Italy spent time with the children and engaged in various sports and physical activity.

 

Advocate Ashok Prabhune,Vice President, Vidya Pratishthan Baramati, the Chief Guest for the ceremony felicitated the Italian trainers for their commitment towards training the local teachers of Vidya Pratishthan and engaging with the children. Various officials of Baramati, trustees and Principals of schools as well as thesenior managementof Ferrero India were present at the closing ceremony. All the childrenparticipating at the Kinder+Sport camp were given certificates.

 

Sharing his view on the Kinder+Sport summer camp, Advocate Ashok Prabhunesaid,“Kinder+Sport is an ambitious global initiative that Ferrero is undertaking. It is indeed a privilege that children in India are a part of Kinder+Sport. I encourage Ferrero to expand this initiative to other parts of India so that the importance of physical activity is known to Indians at an early age.”

 

Speaking at the closing ceremony Mr. Inder Chopra, Secretary General at Ferrero India and spokesperson for Kinder+Sport in India said, “We would like to thank all the Italian trainers who have spent time for the Kinder+Sport initiative here in Baramati. Their knowledge and experience will surely help our children grow into healthy individuals.  I believe physical activity is the foundation for a healthy living. We believe that active children are more likely to grow into active adults.”

 

Specialist trainers from Italy conducted the training sessions with the children. The children were divided into 4 age groups (5-6 yrs, 7-8 yrs, 9-10 yrs, and 11-12 yrs) in order to respect the physical and psychological-behavioral characteristics specific to each age.Activities includeda variety of sports like soccer, badminton, volleyball, basketball, etc and motor activities.

 

Kinder+Sport summer camp is based on the ‘Joy of moving’ methodology – a well-researched, fun, scientific and 360 degree approach which aims to promote positive effects to the four cornerstones of child development: physical fitness, movement coordination (sports skills), cognitive development and life skills.

 

This is the third year of the summer camp. The Kinder+Sport initiative will be gradually grown to involve children across the state and country eventually.
