Uber Passenger Raises Alarm Over Driver Watching YouTube News En Route to Pune Airport
Pune, 8th November 2023: A recent incident involving an Uber driver allegedly watching YouTube videos while transporting a passenger to Pune Airport has sparked concerns about passenger safety and raised questions about Uber’s commitment to ensuring safe rides.
On November 5, 2023, Sagar Sawant, the passenger, took to Twitter to voice his complaints about the Uber ride he had booked. In his tweet, Sawant expressed his concern about the driver watching the news on YouTube while operating the vehicle. He questioned the safety of passengers in such situations and asked whether Uber would take appropriate action.
Sawant’s tweet read: “I booked an Uber cab for Pune Airport, and after some time, the driver started watching news on YouTube while driving the car. Is it safe for passengers? Will Uber take action on that matter? How can we trust .@Uber @Uber_Support.”
Uber, a leading ride-hailing company, was quick to respond to Sawant’s complaint. In their official response on the same day, Uber acknowledged the seriousness of the incident and expressed their commitment to passenger safety.
