Pune, 7th November 2023: Pimpri Chinchwad College of Engineering (PCCOE), under the aegis of the Pimpri Chinchwad Education Trust, recently inaugurated a state-of-the-art solar-powered climate and air quality monitoring center. This collaborative initiative between the City University of New York (CUNY) and PCCOE was made possible through a generous grant from the US Consulate General – Mumbai to the Bronx community.

The brainchild of City University of New York Chemistry Department Chair Neil Phillips and Professor Parimita Sen, the weather station is a significant addition to PCCOE’s infrastructure. It is poised to collect comprehensive weather-related data, including temperature, humidity, solar radiation, UV rays, and air quality. The real-time data will be accessible through the Davies Weather Link app, facilitating in-depth studies on climate change.
