Pune: MP Supriya Sule Calls For White Paper And Audit Of Chandni Chowk Project

Pune, 5th November 2023: Baramati MP Supriya Sule addressed the media today, highlighting several pressing issues concerning her constituency and the Maharashtra state.

 

Chandni Chowk Bridge Inspection:

Sule expressed concern over the lack of transparency regarding the Chandni Chowk bridge project. She urged Union Minister Nitin Gadkari to present a white paper on the work undertaken. Sule emphasized the need for pedestrian safety and criticized the current disregard for this aspect of the infrastructure. She called for a focus on making Baramati Lok Sabha Constituency accident-free, stressing the importance of putting safety above politics.

 

 

Pune Municipal Corporation Challenges:

Sule criticized the Pune Municipal Corporation’s lax approach towards issues like water scarcity, garbage disposal, and air pollution. She deemed these challenges as significant and urged the authorities to address them promptly.

 

Ajit Pawar’s mother wishes him to become Chief Minister:

Responding to a question about the Chief Minister’s wish, Sule remarked, “Of course, what mother wouldn’t think so,” subtly acknowledging the personal nature of the query.

 

Concerns about Sunil Tatkare:

Expressing concern over the delayed response to Sunil Tatkare’s petition, Sule highlighted the apparent disparity in handling such matters. She drew parallels to the swift disqualification in case of minor incidents involving her fellow MPs.

 

Political Sensitivity of NCP:

Sule defended the NCP’s sensitivity by citing examples of their actions, including voting in favor of the women’s reservation bill and a no-confidence motion related to an incident in Manipur.

 

Ongoing Dispute with Piyush Goyal:

Sule discussed her ongoing dispute with Piyush Goyal, emphasizing the need for sensitivity towards farmers, particularly in light of the looming onion crisis. She criticized the high tax burden on farmers and accused state and central governments of being unfriendly towards women and farmers.

 

Issues Surrounding Baramati Election Money Distribution:

Sule questioned the Home Minister’s inattention to allegations of money distribution by the Ajit Pawar group. She attributed the BJP’s media engagement to the failure of the Home Minister and expressed sympathy for the party’s original workers.

 

Ajit Pawar’s Health:

Sule, speaking on Deputy CM Ajit Pawar’s illness, stressed the importance of separating politics from health matters. She conveyed her well-wishes to him for a speedy recovery and asserted that political considerations should not overshadow his health needs.

 

Jarange Fast:

Sule expressed uncertainty about the actions of the triple-engine government in response to Jarange Patal’s fast. She congratulated Jarange Patal and criticized the government for what she deemed as fraudulent handling of the situation, expressing hope for corrective measures.
