Pune: Three Schoolgirls Injured As Speeding Car Rams Into Footpath
Erandwane, 4th November 2023: On Saturday afternoon, a speeding car struck three schoolgirls near Karnataka High School in the Erandwane area of Pune. According to eyewitnesses, the accident resulted in injuries to three girls, with one of them in critical condition.
The speeding vehicle was travelling from Nimbalkar’s Garden in Kothrud to Ganesh Nagar in Erandwane when the incident occurred. The woman driver, Varsha Marathe, lost control of her car in front of the Revive Hair & Beauty Studio shop on Gulawani Maharaj Road. The car subsequently entered the pavement, leading to two of the three girls being thrown from the footpath. Eyewitnesses reported that one girl was found trapped under the wheel of the car, resulting in serious injuries.
Promptly after the accident, concerned citizens rushed to the spot and admitted all three injured individuals to a private hospital in the Erandwane area.
Alankar Police Station officials are further investigating the case.
