Pune: Youth Arrested For Carrying Pistol In Chikhali Area
Chikhali, 4th November 2023: The officials from Crime Branch Unit Two of Pimpri Chinchwad police have arrested a 19-year-old youth for allegedly possessing live cartridges and country-made pistol.
The arrested individual has been identified as Zishan Shabbir Khan. He was found in possession of two live cartridges and a pistol. The motive behind Khan’s possession of the firearm remains undisclosed as the police continue their investigation.
According to police officials, while conducting routine inquiries into known criminals, policemen Jamir Tamboli and Santosh Ingle received information that Khan was seen carrying a pistol in the Mahadev Nagar area of Chikhli. Accordingly, a trap was laid and he was caught.
During investigation, it was revealed that Khan had procured the pistol and cartridges from Uttar Pradesh, but the precise reason for possessing these items is still under investigation.
The action was taken under the guidance of DCP (Crime Branch) Swapna Gore and ACP Satish Mane. The team included Police Inspector Jitendra Kadam and policemen Dilip Chaudhary, Jamir Tamboli, Santosh Ingale, Pramod Vetal, Usha Dale, Deva Raut, Sagar Avsare and Namdev Kapse.
