Shivajinagar’s minimum temperature was 1.3 degrees Celsius below the normal range, contrasting with Lohegaon, which recorded 16.9 degrees Celsius, just 0.1 degrees below normal. The city’s relative humidity is on the higher side, contributing to a warmer daytime experience for residents.

The recent cooler nights have set a different tone for October, resembling winter-like conditions ahead of schedule. Despite minimal fluctuations in day and night temperatures, residents can anticipate enjoying the typical cool weather of Pune in the coming days, according to meteorological experts.

Following the withdrawal of the southwest monsoon, Pune witnessed an increase in both day and night temperatures. A senior meteorological official highlighted the absence of any weather systems over the state at present. Cold northerly winds are currently sweeping through the state, with predictions of more such winds in the coming days, leading to a further drop in night temperatures across all meteorological divisions.

On Sunday, all divisions experienced a decline in night temperatures, with Jalgaon in the state recording the lowest at 11.6 degrees Celsius, a deviation of 4.8 degrees below normal. Night temperature variations across the state ranged from 0.1 to 4.8 degrees Celsius.

Simultaneously, officials from the state agriculture department noted that the prevailing weather conditions are favorable for rabi crops and vegetables. With no drastic drop in night temperatures, the environment is conducive to vegetable growth, promising an abundance of diverse vegetables in the market in the coming weeks. This weather is also deemed beneficial for rabi sowing, according to agricultural authorities.
