Pune: Water Supply Interruption Expected In Multiple Areas For Maintenance Work

Pune, 23rd October 2023: The Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) announced that a large swath of Pune will experience water supply disruptions on Thursday, October 26, due to essential maintenance work at key water treatment plants. The water supply is also expected to resume with reduced pressure and delays on Friday, October 27.

Maintenance will be carried out at Warje Water Treatment Plant, Chatushringi Plant, and Pune Cantonment Water Treatment Plant. Consequently, the Taljai section will also experience a water cut.

Neighborhoods including Kothrud, Karvenagar, Warje, Shivane, Bhusari Colony, Shivtirthanagar, Senapati Bapat Road, Model Colony, Deccan, and Pulachi Wadi will be impacted.

Also, areas like Shivajinagar, Aundh, Baner, Nagar Road, Kharadi, Chandannagar, Hadapsar, Mundhwa, Mohammadwadi, Sasanenagar, and Kalepadal will also see interruptions. The PMC confirmed that the water supply to Yerwada, Bibvewadi, Balajinagar, Indiranagar, Taljai area, and parts of Katraj will be shut off.

While water supply will be completely halted on Thursday, the following day (Friday, 27th) will see water supply restored albeit with a delay and at reduced pressure. Residents are advised to store sufficient water in advance and use it judiciously during the period of disruption.

The Municipal Corporation emphasized the essential nature of the maintenance activities. The work aims to improve the longevity and efficiency of the water treatment plants, thereby ensuring a consistent and high-quality water supply for the city’s residents in the long term.
