Pune: Ramakrishnan Raman Appointed as New Vice Chancellor of Symbiosis International (Deemed University)
Pune, 23rd October 2023: Symbiosis International (Deemed University) has announced the appointment of Dr. Ramakrishnan Raman as its new Vice Chancellor. Dr. Raman succeeds Dr. Rajani Gupte, who retired today after serving two consecutive terms as Vice Chancellor.
Dr. Ramakrishnan Raman brings over two decades of diversified experience from corporate, academic, and research sectors to this esteemed role. He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science and Engineering, an MBA in Systems and Marketing, and a Doctoral Degree in Management from Pune University. Dr. Raman has been a long-standing member of the Symbiosis family, having served for over a decade in various capacities. His roles have included Professor & Director at the Symbiosis Centre for Information Technology and the Symbiosis Institute of Business Management–Pune, Dean of the Faculty of Management, and Director of Strategy & Development.
Notably, Dr. Raman has played a significant role in fostering international collaborations for Symbiosis with educational institutions in Japan, Canada, the United Kingdom, and the United States. His extensive research in fields like Information Systems, IT Strategy, Entrepreneurship, Artificial Intelligence, and Big Data has garnered him recognition in international academic circles.
As the new Vice Chancellor of Symbiosis International (Deemed University), Dr. Ramakrishnan Raman aims to leverage his deep expertise and global perspective to enrich the student experience and drive innovation in higher education.
